I love art in all of its forms. So much creativity out there to appreciate! :-D My sister has been continually urging me to start up a blog, so I finally decided to do so. I am new to the blogging world, so we shall see how well I do eh? ;-)

My name is Andrea. I am 23. And I am the 6th child out of eight. Which has always been a blast. My Grandmother gave me the nick name of gidget when I was just a wee one, and she past away some years ago now. So that is how I came to call my blog "gigdetzplace".

I love to sew, knit, paint, felt, needle felt, draw,...and pretty much anything that I can get my hands on to be crafty with. I learned to sew and be crafty from my mother, who learned from her mother, who learned from hers,...and so on. So special! :-D

I remember as a child going over to my grandparents house to do crafts and such with my Mama, Grandma, and sisters. Such good times. I still gather so much inspiration from my Grandma. And even though she may not physically be here with us anymore, I know that there is so much of her that still is.

So, this blog shall be dedicated to my Grandmother Margaret June Akervold, and to my sister Aminta who has urged me for so long to start up a blog, and to all the wonderful forms of art that I so love to create. I hope that you enjoy it all as much as I have enjoyed creating it! :-D
